    Quotes of 2009 So Far

I've been keeping a file of quotes, although of course I don't write down nearly all of the funny things the awesome people around me say. If you can think of anything I ought to have included here, feel free to post 'em as a reply.

    Self-Absorbed Much?

I jotted this down a couple weeks ago when it happened, with the intent of posting it for everyone's amusement. Yeah, I'm a slow-wad.

    Hilarious.

I’m working upstairs now, and I can hear my parents talking down below but I can’t make out the words… and do you know what I am thinking? I am wondering why they are bothering to talk when no one is around to hear them.

Yes, there is something off with me.

    CafePress & Kat(e)ness For Sale

So in order to augment my productivity in this part of my life called "unemployment," I am opening a store on CafePress. You can do so for absolute free (or, if you want to pay, you can upgrade to a paid account which gets you more traffic and more personalizability) and make shirts and stuff that other people can buy for the cost it takes CafePress to make the stuff (made to order) + however much the creator want to make off the designs + postage.
So! If you can't get enough of the real thing, you can soon buy some Kateness online at my CafePress store...Soon, as in, as soon as I think of a name for it and get my account all in order.
So! If anybody has any ideas for a) what I should call my cafepress store or b) anything good I should put on t-shirts, please drop me a line and I'll consider them!
Thanks for your support in this endeavor!

This Entry is Dedicated to Karri Robertson

Hello blogging world! Long time no see.
    Well, I've graduated.
BFA in communication design, and I'm still unemployed. It's a little more complicated because I'd like to stay at home, and finding a local job is tricky. (current location: Middle of Nowhere)
Shamefully, I really like unemployment. Living with my parents I can get away with it for a time, though of course the guilt is exponential. This last thing I keep telling myself, but I reeeally like reading manga online and scribbling away all I like and having the house all to myself (clear, open brain space!) while my parents are at work. >.> I am a bad sparky.

    Re: Continued Repression in China

So I got an e-mail this week saying Pastor Bike and those detained with him have been released. So that's good news!

Here's the rest of the scoop:

"Instead of being held at a prison or a detention center Pastor Bike and his wife, Xie Fenglan, and their co-worker were taken to resort hotels on a "forced vacation" designed to ensure that they couldn’t talk to any foreign media. Pastor Bike was scheduled to do an interview with the BBC the day of his arrest.

"All three believers are in good health and spirits and praising God for their release, according to our co-laborers at China Aid Association. The detainees said during their confinement they had opportunities to witness to guards and even high-ranking government officials staying at the hotels where they were held."

So there's definitely some repression going on that's not good, but it could have been much, much worse! I know a lot of people the world over were glad to hear he and his wife and co-worker were not harmed or otherwise badly treated.
